On 21 March 2007, Paul lost his life in an accident onboard the submarine HMS Tireless during manoeuvres. Paul was 32 years old. Hundreds mourned his passing at Halesowen Church on Thursday 5th April 2007.

The charity was set up in memory of Paul McCann who sadly lost his life whilst on duty for the Royal Navy in 2007.
The charity organises a Royal Navy Cricket match at Halesowen Cricket club every year and all money raised helps improve the lives of disabled children.
